Chapter Retreat and Big Little Love!

Over the weekend new Alpha Chi members got to participate in one of the most beloved sorority traditions: receiving their Big Sisters! All week the new members received various clues as to who their Big could be. Some Bigs played sneaky and tried to throw off their Littles to make the surprise even greater on reveal day.

After, the ladies hopped in cars with their new bigs/littles and took the trip to chapter retreat at a cabin in Bear Lake owned by one of Alpha Chi's Favorite Guys. At retreat sisters bonded with one another and played various games in order to strengthen their sisterhood.

All in all it was a great weekend! And new members get excited, one week until Initiation!!

Excited to get her Big!

Big Little Matching!

Every semester the women of Beta Xi put on a fabulous philanthropy event. This past September, the Alpha Chi ladies hosted their famous Alphatraz event.

The event goes to support CAPSA, and to raise awareness about Domestic Violence against women. Each fall semester Alpha Chi sells "warrants" for students to throw their friends into jail. In order for the students to get out of the jail cell, they have to achieve a "bail". Each warrant requests the participants to raise at least $10.

"Prisoners" are given a cup that they need to fill by getting passing students to donate. Students get creative on ways to earn bail. This past year some of the favorites were: twerking, offering dates, and singing.

At the end of the event, the ladies of Beta Xi were excited to announce that they raised over $2,000 for CAPSA.

The money will go to a scholarship for a re-entry student who has been a victim of domestic violence.

The party doesn't stop for Founder's Day!

On October 15, 1885 seven women founded the women's fraternity, Alpha Chi Omega. Since then hundreds of thousands of women have joined Alpha Chi and have partaken in the beloved ritual. College women and alumnae alike have worn the lyre with pride, and grew a new affection for the color combination of scarlet and olive. Ladies across the nation learned to seek the heights and to lean on each other. We have made it our mission to protect one another with our philanthropy, Domestic Violence Awareness.

Our sorority is more than just theme parties, Greek week, crafting, Kate Spade, and Lilly Pulitzer. Alpha Chi is our bond. It's the laughter at two in the morning, it's the crying with each other after a bad breakup, it's the love between a big and a little, the friendships that can never be severed. For Alpha Chi we celebrate October 15 because it has brought us so much joy into our lives. Our sorority has never changed us, it simply brought out the women we were always meant to be.

So Happy Birthday Alpha Chi Omega, 128 has never looked so good.

Along with celebrating Alpha Chi's Birthday we also celebrated our three new favorite guys: Travis Kolupanowich, Dalton Wilson, and John Stankiewicz. We adore these boys and appreciate all that they do for the chapter. Welcome to the Beta Xi family gentlemen. We love you!

Polish Week

Reunited and it feels so good! This week, the Alpha Chi sisters finally returned to one another after a long summer apart for one of our favorite events of the year, Polish Week! This past week was a time for the Beta Xi ladies to reconnect, let loose, strengthen our bond, and most importantly, get totally excited for Fall Recruitment. We can't wait to meet all the new faces of Utah State. See you soon Aggies!

Summer AChiO Lovin'

They say summer love is fleeting, but here at Alpha Chi Omega our sisters keep the summer love going all year round. We have had our sisters on adventures all over the world this summer, each one learning to seek the heights in their own way. Each bringing back a new life lesson and a new appreciation for our sisters back home. Some ventured to far off lands, others chased their dreams at summer internships, sisters visited families, and some even enjoyed the sunny rays by the pools in good ol' Logan, Utah. But even as the tans fade, sun dresses turn to cozy trench coats, and Logan's icy winds begin to beckon, our sisters here at Beta Xi realize that our bonds last forever.

Here is just a snapshot of all the adventures Alpha Chi sisters took on this summer.

Throwing what we know at a Salt Lake Bee's game.

Hiking in North Carolina; this waterfall was in a scene of the Hunger Games!

Hiking in Yellowstone.

Visiting our sisters at the University of Kansas.

Scuba diving in New Orleans.

Our Sister Taylor at her internship with Tesoro.

Greeks at Jackson Hole for ASUSU.
Kenna Fenton at her Internship with Nordstrom.

Sisters celebrating America's Birthday!

Diane studying abroad in Paris, France.

We hope everyone has a had a fabulous summer time, and we can't wait to see what our sisters will do this fall.

Want to know what the Beta Xi women of Alpha Chi are doing? Keep checking our blog because we are going to start having two blog posts a week! Get excited because this school year we have lots of fun adventures in store.

Dear Potential New Members

Dear Potential New Members,

The women of the Beta Xi chapter of Alpha Chi Omega are excited to welcome you to Utah State University!  We are thrilled to meet each of you and to share with you why we love USU, Alpha Chi Omega, and Greek life.
Recruitment is an exciting experience and will quickly become one of the most unforgettable memories of your time at USU.  Whether you are nervous or excited, remember that just a short time ago, each of us was in the same spot, feeling the same way.  We are here to guide you and support you through this process.
We all understand that leaving behind friends and family, starting your college career and participating in recruitment can be a bit overwhelming all at once, but we are certain that recruitment will prove to be a rewarding experience.  Plus, joining a sorority will immediately bring you into a family environment full of opportunities to make friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.
For those traveling far away, Alpha Chi Omega and Greek life offers you a family away from home that many look for when coming to college. Alpha Chi has provided me with a life-long support of sisters, friends, and caregivers that I know I can count on at any given moment. I have met some of the most amazing women through this chapter and I do not know where I would be, or who I would be, without each and every one of them. Thanks to Alpha Chi Omega, I am blessed to be surrounded by amazing and sincere women who have not only accepted me as an individual with unique personal  interests, but have helped me to change and grow as a person.  Greek life has given me tools to help me succeed as a student and as a person, as well as to push myself to reach my full potential throughout my time at Utah State. No matter what your individual talents and interests are, it is our hope that through recruitment, you will find a home that will support your passions and challenge you to try new things.
We can’t wait to meet all of the amazing women participating in recruitment! We are so excited to invite you to our home and to share Alpha Chi Omega and the Greek community with you.  Enjoy your summer!  We are looking forward to meeting you soon!
Formal sorority recruitment dates: September 3-6th

Happy Healthy Relationships Week from the Alphies!
The Alpha Chi Omega women of Utah State University are taking this week to focus on good relationships!
Healthy relationships are an important part of a woman's life and it's always good to take the time to look at the types of relationships we have with others.
So whether its with your best friends, room mates, sisters, boyfriends, or parents... what does love mean to you?
A special thank you to the ATO's for helping us with this week!
